hi.... i want to design a software same webmin .
Specifically my idea is to design a software unix based with ability to do some specific tasks on server machine same managing users, dns binding,web hosting,samba sharing,mail server etc . But I requirement some play ideas and requirement to know how can I do the same. I crapper implement the software with shell playscript but I poverty to perform all the tasks remotely via internet browser as done in webmin . But i m at my wits end how to perform it ...please help me in this regard ....thanx in advance

I have meet registered my domain and it is pointing to my study severs.
I hit Index.html uploaded to public_html however when typewriting the field into the webbrowser It does not display the index, it displays "Index of /" and a unification to my index.
How can I make the field point directly to my index?
I am using 000webhosting,
Apache ver. 2.2.13 Unix
PHP version 5.2.
MySQL ver. 5.0.81-community
I do not have SSH access.

Hello. My discourse is most creating a ultimate site with php & MySQL database and individual ultimate webpages.
What is the way to do that?
METHOD #1
1 acquire cheap expanse on linux/unix server with MySQL no more than 30 per individual months - is it possible?
2 create a Table there in the database on that server
3 practice in composition web-pages using Notepad and html, php languages with sql queues to that database using Internet if I don't know how to do that .
OR
METHOD#2
1 ordered up an emulator of server on my computer My screen has Windows XP
2 Download MySQL as well.
3 Set it up together
4 training in writing web-pages using Notepad and html, php languages with sql queues to that database
5 buy hosting and upload everything to the server.
Does method 1 rattling works? Or programmers and developers commonly use the second method?

Wanting to give something back, I'm toying with the intent of setting-up a diminutive web-hosting service to wage free hosting for a superior few... probably by using sub-domains e.g. site1.mydomain, site2.mydomain,... for each.
The obvious choice would be to set-up a web-server and stuff on one of my own computers, but neither my internet-connection nor sticking up-time is good enough.
I was therefor wondering if there are any server-parks that allows me to lease cheaply a Linux/Unix server for such a purpose, and manages ownership it up?
I would need Apache, PHP and MySQL for sure, and the knowledge to add packages of PHP scripts freely. I doesn't concern too much if the server is specifically to be used for web-services, or if it's set-up more for generalized purposes... though the latter is preferable. I basically poverty "my own" UNIX organisation -- to do with as I please -- with a killer connection, and someone to keep it up-and-running.

I undergo artful but crapper whatever digit support me making website map that where to keep what thing, same scheme map or structure. I module do designing my own, using html, css, plateau and xhtml.
Also please tell me which web hosting consort is prizewinning for mutual hosting, Unix platform, reliable, budget doesn't matter but prizewinning one. I don't believe on oceanic space and unlimited bandwidth. Thanks

I'm a newer-than-noob UNIX individual switching in from Microsoftland. Back there, I needed IIS on a Windows Server in visit to separate multiple dev and beta web sites simultaneously, and utilised SQL Server for the databases.
I'm looking at switching what I do to Ubuntu now, and wager they offer a screen and server version. Would I need the server to run web services on multiple dev site projects, or crapper those be hosted locally on the desktop version?
Also, what's the standard database app for Linux/Unix hosted web sites? Again, would that be runnable on desktop, or does it requirement the server?
I'm looking for free applications, or as affordable as possible. Thanks, and hunting forward to existence here.
